Michael Bent and his compatriot Andrew Goodman could make their Heineken Cup debuts this weekend after they were registered as additional players ahead of the clash with Clermont.

Bent is no stranger to being thrown in at the deep end having made his Ireland debut against South Africa before he appeared for Leinster, while Goodman will provide cover in the midfield in the absence of Brian O’Driscoll, Luke Fitzgerald and Eoin O’Malley, with the latter pair expected to return to action in the coming weeks.

Munster yesterday registered the returning James Coughlan as their additional player after it had emerged that CJ Stander suffered a broken bone in his hand during his impressive display against Glasgow on Saturday night.

With up to 17 players walking wounded over in Connacht at the moment, meanwhile, 20-year old second row has been promoted to the squad at the expense of injured winger Mark McCrea.
