Leinster's Champions Cup opponents and venue confirmed

This will be a mighty task for Leinster.

Clermont Auvergne had to do it the hard way but they eventually got past Toulon to reach the Champions Cup semi finals.

With the game tied a 9-9 early in the second half, Noa Nakaitaci got over in the corner and Morgan Parra [Michael Murphy's old buddy] slotted over the conversion.

Camille Lopez added a drop goal and a Parra penalty in the closing stages had the Stade Marcel Michelin rocking. An injury-time try saw Clermont win out, 29-9.

Leinster versus Clermont in the south of France for a spot in the Champions Cup final? Don't mind if we do. The 42,000-seater Matmut Stadium de Gerland in Lyon is the destination but the date will be confirmed on Monday when host broadcasters meet with tournament officials.

Leo Cullen's men reached the semis on Saturday after seeing off Wasps 32-17 at the Aviva Stadium.

The final four clash will take place on the weekend of April 21-23 with Sunday, April 23 looking the likely option. Keep an eye on the website/Twitter account of Leinster Rugby for more details.

Both sides have an already rich history in European rugby but only one will reach the final in Edinburgh on May 13.
