Good news and bad news for Leo.
Football phenomenon Lionel Messi has been cleared of the tax fraud allegations that have dogged him for the past years or so, but it’s not all good news for the Barcelona forward.
His father, Jorge Messi, will still face charges that could carry a penalty of up to 18 months in prison for squirrelling his son’s earnings away in illegal, offshore accounts.
Messi and his father had already paid a voluntary €5 million “corrective payment” back in 2013, but that hasn’t been enough to make all of this messiness go away.
