Some intense match photos! #ArmaghSFCpic.twitter.com/jgoUT32cDu — Manus Loughran (@manusloughran) September 19, 2014
Last night's Armagh senior football championship saw one of the most unusual things to ever happen on a GAA pitch as Crossmaglen Rangers ended up facing a Dromintee team made of of middle aged jean and three of them were in their jeans during the game.
The reason behind the shortage of numbers is because some of the Dromintee players decided to go to a wedding instead of the game so the club had to cobble a team together.
The game went ahead and Crossmaglen scored 1-8 in the opening few minutes and then decided to have a training match amongst themselves to kill the rest of the time while Dromintee just had a kick around. Unbelievable.
Local journalist Manus Loughran spoke to Crossmaglen co-manager Tony McEntee during the game and he was pretty disgusted to say the least. Have a listen here...
