The fee is believed to be in the region of £66 million.

Liverpool appear to have finally sorted out their biggest issue by agreeing terms with Roma over their goalkeeper Alisson.

Reported by JOE’s Melissa Reddy, the Merseyside club appear to be close to signing the keeper for a fee in the region of £66 million, or approximately €73 million.

Alisson is very much in demand, with Chelsea also reportedly interested, but it looks like Liverpool have beaten them to the punch.

The keeper started every game for Brazil at the World Cup, conceding a total of three goals in five matches.

Liverpool’s goalkeeping woes have been prevalent for a significant period of time, but were really brought to the forefront after Lloris Karius’ howlers in the Champions League final, which led to them losing 3-1 against Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Although neither club have made an official announcement, it appears as though it’s only a short time away.

The fee discussed is far more than the record amount of money paid for a goalkeeper, with the €52m Juventus spent on Gigi Buffon in 2001 set to be trumped by over €20m if the deal goes ahead.

The Brazilian international is seriously respected as a goalkeeper, and would make for a great addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
