Premier League champions Chelsea celebrated their title victory with an open-top bus parade yesterday, but the fans didn’t exactly come out in their droves to salute their heroes.
In fairness to Chelsea fans, the title has been sewn up for so long now that the enthusiasm for celebrating the success has probably worn off a bit, but it didn’t stop Liverpool defender Jose Enrique from having a cheeky dig on his Instagram account last night.
The Spaniard drew a contrast between the reception that greeted Liverpool following their Champions League success in 2005 and Chelsea’s reception yesterday; needless to say, the comments that followed were a little salty to say the least, with ‘6-1’ getting plenty of airing.
If you’re going to dish it out, you have to be able to take it after all Jose.
