And they’re off!

Fancy having a flutter, potentially winning some great prizes and seeing some fantastic racing action?

Diehard racing fans and casual attendees alike are in for a treat when two of Ireland’s premier racecourses, Leopardstown and The Curragh, come together for an amazing weekend of flat racing on 9-10 September. Longines Irish Champions Weekend is the first leg of the European Triple crown of championship race meetings and the world’s best thoroughbreds will be competing over the weekend.

So what can you expect from the weekend?

The action starts in Leopardstown on Saturday, 9 September, and then moves to The Curragh on Sunday, 10 September. This is elite racing. There’ll be 16 races over two courses in one weekend but what sets this apart from other flat races is the standard of horses on display.

It’s not just about the racing. It’s also a chance to enjoy one of racing’s biggest social occasions and take your chances in one of the weekend’s many competitions, with €25,000 in competition prizes up for grabs.

Fancy yourself as a dapper chappie? Well, there are prizes for that. The Longines Prize for Elegance will reward the most stylish man on both days of the festival. Daily winners will walk away with coveted Longines timepieces and there will also be shopping experiences at Louis Copeland and Kildare Village on offer. And if you pre-register for the competition, you’ll get a complimentary personal shopping experience at Kildare Village.

There’s also a chance to win an ultimate test drive of the F-PACE, Jaguar’s performance SUV and the winner of World Car of the Year 2017, on both days.

You can even have a sneak peek behind the curtain of the world of horse training with the exclusive Curragh Thoroughbred Trail on Sunday. Places for this one-off opportunity to go behind the scenes at some of Ireland’s top training yards and stud farms are selling out fast so be sure not to miss out.

Ever wanted to see what happens at an actual thoroughbred auction? Well, there’ll be the chance to catch one on Saturday, 9 September. The Goffs Champions Sale will see highly-rated flat horses go to the highest bidder on the day.

You can still order tickets to this incredible weekend of racing action but many of the events have limited availability. Be sure not to miss out when the great and the good descend on Ireland for an incredible weekend of racing action.

Now in its fourth year, Longines Irish Champions Weekend has firmly established itself as one of the leading racing fixtures in the Global racing calendar. For two days in September, the best in racing, style and entertainment can be found at two of the world’s leading race-courses, Leopardstown in County Dublin and The Curragh in County Kildare.
