Floyd Mayweather’s next fight has been confirmed

Floyd Mayweather

Here’s a hint: it’s not Khabib.

And it’s certainly not a Conor McGregor rematch…

Floyd Mayweather is set to fight the undefeated Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa next month.

However, it has yet to be confirmed what kind of format the fight will take. Mayweather is regarded as one of history’s finest boxers, but since his fight with Conor McGregor it seems that he is considering branching out into the MMA world.

Nasukawa is a 20-year-old kickboxer who fights in the Japanese RIZIN MMA league. His record is 27-0 in kickboxing and 4-0 in MMA.

“I wanted to do something different,” said Mayweather. Mayweather has twice been retired in recent years, retiring after his fight against Andre Berto in 2015, and once again after maintaining his undefeated record against Conor McGregor last year. He’s now 41 years old.

“I wanted to display my skills outside the US and be in a special fight. I want to give the people what they want – blood, sweat and tears.”

Fans won’t have long to wait before the fight actually goes down. It is scheduled for 31 December in Saitama, Japan.
