So he didn’t stumble and accidentally fall onto Chiellini’s shoulder then?

It’s been almost a week since Uruguay and Liverpool striker Luis Suarez attracted headlines for all the wrong reasons yet again after appearing to bite Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini towards the end of the crucial Group D encounter between the sides.

To say that people are still talking about would be an understatement, however and Suarez has attempted to put the matter to bed for good by issuing a public apology to Chiellini via his Twitter account.

Following on from a rather farcical attempt at a defence of his actions at the weekend, Suarez has admitted that he was in the wrong and vowed that such an incident will never happen again; we’ll let you make your own mind up on the apology after reading his statement in its entirety below.

UPDATE: Chiellini, to his credit, accepted Suarez’s apology and replied to the Uruguay striker on Twitter this evening.
