“This could be life changing.”
Luke Littler’s hopes of winning another PDC title are over after being beat by Cork bus driver, Radek Szaganski, on the second night of the Players Championship.
Littler returned on Tuesday to the Player’s Championship in Wigan for another go at winning a trophy but lost a final-leg epic to Szaganski who won 6-5 and progressed to the next round.
Szaganski, 44, was born in Poland but has been living in Ireland for some years and works as a bus driver in Cork.
Luke Littler loses to Polish-Irish bus driver Radek Szaganski.
Szaganski played in the 2024 World Championship but lost to Dutch legend Raymond van Barneveld in the second round.
Littler was the one who made the headlines in the same tournament when he made his way to the final at the age of just 16.
He’s since won the Bahrain Masters and made the final of the Dutch Masters before falling short to Michael van Gerwen.
Littler was expected to be too much for Szaganski but the Pole was able to keep up with Luke The Nuke before eventually working his way ahead.
Littler didn’t give in and took the battle to a decider but Szaganski kept his head once more and went home victorious.
But all hope is not over for Littler as he’s back in action on Thursday in Glasgow.
The 17-year old is currently ranked third in the table behind Michael Smith and Van Gerwen.
But what a win for Szaganski.
