The Macklin bout was expected to act as a warm up for the much anticipated all-Ireland clash with Andy Lee, which has been six years in the making, but those plans are now on the back-burner.
It's understood that Macklin's promoters Matchroom are attempting to find another date for his Irish comeback at an even bigger venue.
Macklin has said, "I'm disappointed to have to postpone... but it's the right thing to do."
As for Lee, well it's been rumoured that he is eyeing up a mouthwatering fight against WBC Middleweight champion Miguel Cotto.
