On November 15, Dublin will see it’s first major fight night since Bernard Dunne in 09…

We’re delighted to give Irish boxing fans some good news because  Matthew Macklin’s postponed WBC fight against Argentina’s Jorge Sebastian Heiland has been rescheduled for the 3 Arena on 15 November.

The duo were all set to go toe-to-toe back in August at the National Boxing Stadium but that bout was postponed after the Tipperary Tornado’s trainer, Jamie Moore, was attacked and shot in Marbella.

The upcoming fight will be the first time that Macklin has fought in Dublin since he beat Rafael Sosa Pintos in 2009.

The winner of the upcoming bout will take a big step towards challenging WBC champ Miguel Cotto but we have a feeling that Andy Lee might be next in line for the two-times European middleweight champion.

Promoter Eddie Hearn is set to confirm the full details of the undercard at a press conference on Tuesday but it’s already been announced that fierce rivals Spike O’Sullivan and Anthony Fitzgerald will also square off against each other.

Michael Sweeney and Ian Tims will also meet for the Irish Cruiserweight Title while Dubliners Luke Keeler, Patrick Hyland and Declan Geraghty are also in action.

If you can’t manage to get your hands on a ticket then don’t worry, the fight will also be broadcast live on Sky Sports
