Dana White predicts McGregor V Khabib fight will break a very specific all-time UFC record

There is a lot on the line here.

Conor McGregor will be getting his long-awaited comeback in just a few weeks time.

UFC 229 will go down on Saturday 6 October in Las Vegas, Nevada, and with McGregor facing off against current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

That fight will feature as a co-main event clash between former UFC lightweight champions Tony Ferguson and Anthony Pettis on the night, but we kind of all know that all eyes will be on McGregor V Khabib.

Dana White is well aware of this too, as a recent interview with Yahoo! Sports revealed he believes that this event will break all previous PPV records:

“I am confident it will do 2 million on pay-per-view”, White said, before going on to say that he believes it might even break 3 million, as the event is “trending as big as anything we’ve ever done.”

The previous record holder is… well, McGregor himself, as his previous bout against Nate Diaz racked up an impressive at 1.6 million PPV buys.

However, some fans are pointing out the fact that the reason why the numbers aren’t climbing exponentially is because of cost:
