Conor McGregor kept his unbeaten UFC record in tact after a convincing victory over Max Holloway at UFC 26 last night.

After a rock-star like ring entrance and a crowd response usually reserved for the biggest headliners, McGregor had a lot of hype to live up to, but backed it up superbly with a unanimous decision victory. The judges scores for the featherweight fight were 30-27, 30-27, and 30-26.

McGregor demonstrated his famed kick-boxing skills in the opening round and in the second, his boxing came to the fore, though he was dealt a big blow when his knee popped. The Dubliner did not let this affect him and changed his tactics as a result, taking the fight to the ground at every opportunity.

However not even that setback could prevent the 25 year-old from another victory, though he conceded afterwards that he was disappointed that he didn’t finish the fight more emphatically.

“I’m at a loss for words,” McGregor told MMA Fighting afterwards.

“I wanted to stand up all the way, he caught my leg in an awkward position my leg was wobbly when I got up. You live and you learn.”

Another impressive performance from the Irishman who is taking the UFC world by storm and here he gave his thoughts post-fight.
