Does this mean that the fight of the summer won’t go ahead? Say it ain’t so.
Conor McGregor’s UFC Featherweight Title bout with Jose Aldo in Las Vegas next month is under threat after the Brazilian reportedly suffered a rib injury in training.
According to reports, Aldo suffered a fractured rib in training and if those reports are true, it would put the headline bout of UFC 189 at the MGM Grand in serious jeopardy given that it is just over two weeks’ away.

Globo (Brazilian TV UFC partner) reporting Aldo suffered a rib injury & his status is TBD. http://t.co/140oPaxMNv. No confirm on our end yet

There has been no official confirmation of Aldo’s injury yet so until there is, nobody can say for certain whether the fight will go ahead or not.
Given the level of expectation the fight had created amongst UFC fans in Ireland and worldwide, it would be a huge disappointment if it had to be cancelled.
More as we get it.
