Thinking of heading to McGregor v Mayweather in Las Vegas? Here are a few options

Will you be making the trip?

McGregor v Mayweather

It’s going to be one of the biggest sporting events of the year.

Say what you like about the credibility of Conor McGregor’s upcoming bout with Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas in August, but it’s undoubtedly going to generate massive interest.

Having been speculated upon for months and months, the fight was finally confirmed by both parties on Wednesday night and will go ahead in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, August 26.

As is the case with all of McGregor’s fights Stateside, there will likely be a massive Irish presence in the arena on the night and if you’re thinking of joining the hordes of J1 students that will probably descend on Sin City, then here are a few options.

According to Skyscanner on Thursday morning – and bear in mind, things could change very quickly – return flights from Dublin to Las Vegas are actually working out pretty reasonable if you’re prepared to hang around for a few days before and after.

Let’s face it, you might as well make the most of it while you can.

At the time of writing, return flights that would involve a departure from Dublin on any day from Tuesday, August 22 to Friday, August 25 and a return from Las Vegas on any day from Monday, August 28 to Thursday, August 31, would set you back not a whole lot over €400.

For example, we checked one this morning that would involve a flight out of Dublin on Thursday, August 24 and a return flight from Las Vegas on Monday, August 28 that costs just over €425.

It’s worth bearing in mind that available seats seem to be disappearing fast and that the trip would take the best part of a day either way.

But hey, are you going to remember how tired you were in the airport when you’re an old man telling your grandkids about the time you went to see Conor McGregor fight Floyd Mayweather in Vegas in years to come?

We didn’t think so.

The option above is just one of plenty currently available on Skyscanner if you include the whole month of August in your search parameters, which we’ve done here, so if you are serious about heading to Vegas, it’s worth playing around with a few possibilities.

Given the massive hype around the event, meanwhile, there’s also a strong possibility that airlines will provide more seats to satisfy what it likely to be a huge demand, so stay tuned.
