Mexican fans bring cardboard cutout of their mate who wasn’t able to go to the World Cup

Legends.

On Sunday, Mexico beat World Cup holders Germany 1-0 in one of the games of the tournament so far.

Their attacking attitude against one of the best teams in the world was refreshing, and the Germans couldn’t live with their pacy counter-attacking style.

Hirving Lozano’s goal was enough to see off the Germans, who spent the majority of the second half attacking, but with little or no joy.

Lozano’s goal was quite well received in Mexico, to the point that a small earthquake was registered on the Richter scale as a result of the celebrations. That’s what the World Cup is all about.

But that’s not the only bit of craic that they’re bringing to the table.

One group of lads have brought a cardboard cutout of one of their mates who couldn’t make it to the World Cup. So now, not only is he there in spirit, but he’s also there in a physical sense… Kind of.

If you’re still stuck for a team to support, we think we’ve found the one for you.

Not only are they top of their group, but the Irish did something very similar to what the Mexicans have done here, at the Euros two years ago, where one group of mates brought “Baz” along with them, another cardboard cutout who went everywhere with the lads.

And they wear green too!

Arriba Mexico!
