Formula One pundit Eddie Jordan caught up with Michael Fassbender at the Candian Grand Prix and what else would they do only have the ‘cupla focail’?

The former boss of Jordan Grand Prix is no stranger to the paddock and in and among the grid as he covers race weekends as a pundit and while walking around the grid on Montreal he saw X-Men star Michael Fassbender.

The 65 year-old grabbed the actor for a quick word as Gaeilge, which didn’t fluster the esteemed actor in the slightest. Admittedly it was the briefest of exchanges and wouldn’t have got them far in the Irish oral Leaving Cert exams, but it was good to hear all the same.

And Jordan wasn’t the only Irishman that the German-born actor met at the track. Fassbender spent his formative years in the Kingdom, so was only too happy to pose for a photo with a Kerry man sporting the green and gold at the Montreal venue.

Niall O’Connor from Dingle was lucky enough to get down to the pit lane after the race and Fassbender made his way over to have a chat to the only man in a GAA jersey at the race.

Proud of his Kingdom roots, Fassbender is currently filming the latest instalment of X-Men, Days of Future Past.
