Sawyer had worked for Sky for 18 years.

Long-serving and popular presenter Natalie Sawyer will no longer appear on Sky Sports News, having departed the station after 18 years.

According to The Sun, for whom Sawyer writes as a columnist for SunSport, Sawyer completed her final shift at the station on Wednesday and no comment was made about her impending departure.

A spokesperson for Sawyer told the paper: “Natalie will not make an official comment at this time but I can confirm that she worked her final shift yesterday at Sky Sports (News) and is very much looking forward to a new challenge.”

The Sun and The Times report that Sawyer’s colleagues are believed to be upset by the circumstances surrounding her departure and that other presenters were instructed not to mention her exit from the station on air.

Sawyer (38) has worked with Sky for 18 years and, along been Jim White, has become known as the face of Transfer Deadline Day on the station in recent years.
