Paddy Power have slashed the odds on a General Election to take place in Ireland as soon as this November.

The bookmakers had offered odds of 4/1 on an election taking place in November up to yesterday, but that price has now shortened significantly to 4/5 after a string of wagers.

Paddy Power spokesperson Féilim Mac An Iomaire said: “If money talks, and it usually does, it’s telling us that an election in 2015 is far more likely than what we initially thought.”
