
Outpouring of support for Everton's Aaron Lennon following detainment under Mental Health Act
There has been a huge outpouring of support for Everton winger Aaron Lennon following news of his detainment under the Mental Health Act.
Police were called to a location in Salford on Sunday afternoon, believed to be a busy road close to the M602, where he was negotiated with for 20 minutes, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Officers believed he was in a precarious situation and were concerned for his welfare.
Everton commented, saying that Lennon was "receiving care and treatment for a stress-related illness."
News of Lennon's admission has sparked a huge response on social media, with professionals and fans alike showing their support for the 30-year-old.
