Somebody get Paddy a ticket to Vegas.
Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao finally announced at the weekend that they were going to go head to head in the ring in May, but it arguably didn’t create as much excitement as one would have thought.
There are a number of reasons for that.
For one, it is a fight that probably should have taken place years ago.
Furthermore, judging by early reports about the ticket prices (over €3,500 for the cheapest ticket, apparently), only people with A LOT of money are going to be able to attend the fight in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Millions of boxing fans, meanwhile, will fork out a hefty sum to see it on pay-per-view.
Two-time Irish Olympic medallist Paddy Barnes isn’t getting too carried away by what’s ahead, although that hasn’t stopped him chancing his arm at cheekily bagging a free trip to Vegas all the same.
