Twickenham is preparing for an Irish invasion on Saturday, as for the first time in Heineken Cup history, there is an all-Irish final with Leinster defending their title against Ulster.

Ulster will be in high spirits after an impressive display in their semi final saw them beat Edinburgh 22-19. The Ulstermen were inspired to victory by Ruan Pienaar, who kicked 17 points.

The South African has put in some outstanding performances this season and could have an important role in deciding where the trophy ends up.

With Leinster’s strong defensive line, Ulster’s hopes could rest on the assured kicking of Pienaar, who has 71 points in six Heineken Cup clashes so far.

The scrum-half is in good form and looks value at 7/1 with Paddy Power to be awarded the man of the match should Ulster lift the trophy.

Leinster are looking for their third Heineken Cup success in four years and have already beaten Ulster twice this year.

A 42-13 demolition that included six tries was followed by a closely fought 16-8 win at Ravenhill. Rob Kearney is a key figure for the champions after six tries in eight games in this Heineken Cup campaign, including two in the quarter-final win over Cardiff.

He then put in a man of the match performance in the semi final against Clermont Auvergne and scored a vital drop goal. The 26-year-old possesses plenty of pace, skill and composure, making him a decent shout to be the first man to cross the line at 10/1 with Paddy Power.

Ulster are the 3/1 outsiders for the crown and many would agree that Leinster’s play this season makes them worthy favourites.

Arguably they are not in their strongest form though and the Ulstermen will be up for the battle, looking to replicate their success of 1999. Interestingly Ulster won their semi final by three points, the same margin of victory that has won two of the last four finals.

Those who fancy Ulster to upset the odds and are a bit more adventurous can get a cracking outside 25/1 bet on them to win the final by three points with Paddy Power.
