This will be a must-read.

On the day that he sadly had to announce his retirement from professional rugby, it has been revealed that Paul O’Connell’s autobiography will be released later this year.

Penguin Ireland today confirmed that the Munster, Ireland and Lions legend will collaborate with Alan English (who also collaborated with Brian O’Driscoll on The Test) in an autobiography set to be published in October.

Penguin say that O’Connell will explore the forces and struggles that turned him into the player and leader that he became in a book for everyone who wants to understand the roots of achievement and the inner world of an elite sportsman.

It’s already on our Christmas wish-list.
