A move which has surprised many.

Paul O'Connell will take up a role coaching with State Francais in the Top 14 in France next season. The former Munster, Ireland and Lions captain will join forces with his former teammate Mike Prendergast on the Parisian club's coaching ticket next season. https://twitter.com/SFParisRugby/status/1025384719352045569 O'Connell will take up the role of forwards coach on a coaching ticket which includes former Springbok coaches Heyneke Meyer, Pieter De Villiers as well as Julian Dupuy, John McFarland and Mike Prendergast. In a teaser video by the club, O'Connell said he was very happy to be in Paris working with a great club. The Young Munster man had worked as forwards coach for the Ireland u20s squad earlier this year. The news is expected to be confirmed later this afternoon.
