Apparently they’ve bought a crock…

Man Utd fans who’re in jubilation over the signing of the World Cup winner should reign in their excitement and expectations according to Guardiola.

Pep Guardiola, who managed the German at Bayern Munich last season, claims that the midfielder’s fitness levels have declined year-on-year since 2012.

The Telegraph report that Guardiola said: “Unfortunately, during the last three years [Schweinsteiger] was never in good condition.”

But he did give fans a cause for optimism with his verdict that he will be a success at United, “He is going to play really good there (at United). I really hope that is going to happen.”

Man Utd are reportedly lining up a transfer for Barcelona’s Pedro as well and Guardiola had a lot more positive things to say about him.

“[Pedro] is one of the best players you can imagine,” said Guardiola.

“He’s won the European Cup, the Champions League and played millions of games for Barcelona. He can play in any team in the world, but I don’t know the situation right now. He’s a great player.”

Is Guardiola right? We’ll find out soon enough…
