Peter O’Mahony returns to Munster team for Friday night’s clash against the Scarlets

O’Mahony has not started a game for the province since last April.

Munster captain Peter O’Mahony has returned to the side to face Llanelli Scarlets in the Guinness PRO12 at Thomond Park on Friday evening.

O’Mahony has been sidelined with a shoulder injury since last April but made an appearance off the bench in last Saturday’s victory over Leinster at the Aviva Stadium.

The 25-year-old is included in a side that features a brand new front row of Dave Kilcoyne, BJ Botha and Kevin O’Byrne.

Tommy O’Donnell remains at openside with CJ Stander switching to 8.

Making his first start of the season is JJ Hanrahan alongside Conor Murray, while Andrew Smith and Ivan Dineen continue in the centre.
