No surprise who has the most expensive Premier League season ticket…

It’s not long to go now until the start of the new Premier League season and JOE reckons that plenty of Irish fans will be planning which games they want to spend their hard earned cash on.

Sporting intelligence have just released this graph, showing the ticket prices for every team, and it isn’t pretty reading for Arsenal fans.

The club may have signed Alexis Sanchez but we hope that the Chilean delivers the goods on the pitch, especially after seeing how much Gunners fans will have to pay for a season ticket.

Arsenal announced a three per cent price increase, making theirs the  most expensive season ticket in the league, slightly above the £2,000 mark.

Ticket Prices

Arsenal also have the most expensive ‘low cost’ season ticket, priced at £1,014, which is still is more expensive than 17 other clubs’ most expensive season ticket.

Kudos to the champions Manchester City though, they have frozen the cost of their cheapest season tickets at £299 which makes them the cheapest in the Premier League.

With the Premier League acknowledged as the most lucrative league in the world, only two clubs have lowered prices this season, Newcastle and Sunderland announced marginal price cuts. JOE says fair play to the two clubs, if only a few others copied their initiative.

Despite Premier League clubs collecting increased TV payments from 2013-16, worth £5.5billion, the benefits are definitely not reaching the fans though because 13 sides have raised their season ticket prices.

The average ‘entry level’ (lowest price) adult season ticket in the Premier League is now £526, up 6.5 per cent; while the average top-price season ticket is now £870, up 7 per cent.

The biggest price hikes have been made by the newly promoted duo of Burnley and QPR. Burnley have raised the price of their cheapest season ticket prices by a whopping 47%.
