PIC: These 4 Irish fans are cycling over to Euro 2016, all in the name of charity

The 500km journey from Dublin to Paris will take five days.

A whole host of Irish fans will be travelling over to France for Euro 2016 this summer, but we doubt many will be going to this much effort.

Cormac O’Keeffe, Tom Fox, Jonny Lane and James O’Dwyer are cycling the 500km from Dublin to Paris, in the space of five days, and it’s all for three fantastic Irish charities – Aware, Irish Cancer Society and Debra Ireland.

The four friends are funding the entire trip themselves and are aiming to raise €10,000 for their chosen charities.

Speaking about the fantastic trip, Cormac told JOE:

“It’s a big undertaking but we are all huge football fans who were planning to attend the Euro’s but wanted to combine it with something special to show our support for these charities.

“We have set ourselves an aggressive fundraising target of €10,000.

“As a group we choose these charities as they are close to our hearts and we are hugely passionate about the work they do around mental health, cancer research and supporting families who have children with EB.

“All the money we raise will go directly to our chosen charities as we are funding our trip entirely ourselves,” he added.
