Leaving the Croke Park pitch after defeat in the All-Ireland Final must be one of the most emotional and the toughest experiences in the life of a GAA player and the desolation felt by Donegal’s Karl Lacey was captured perfectly on camera by Cathal Noonan of Inpho yesterday. With a glimmer of sunlight breaking through from the top corner of the Hogan Stand It’s reminiscent of a similar picture involving Mayo’s Rob Hennelly following defeat to Dublin in last year’s final.
