Like father, like son.
There's certain family names in GAA history that are more well known than most. Hearing surnames like Brogan , Spillane and Fennelly all bring back some wonderful memories but there was an 'on the field' reunion of a very different sort in this junior B match in Laois. JOE readers Eoin Rochford tells us that his side were short of a few players so five of the players' fathers togged out for a unique comeback. Not only that but that dad's all rolled back the clock and contributed to a 6 point win. We wonder if they put their sons to shame with an immense display of fitness and skill. As the cliché goes, experience is vital and it seems to have paid off handsomely. We love this team photo of the Portlaoise father and son pairings.
