Close-up shots of Valencia’s eye as he came off the pitch revealed the extent of the injury at the time, but it appeared to have deteriorated significantly after the match, as is illustrated by the dressing room selfie he posted on his Twitter account late last night.

Considering that his right eye is practically completely closed his co-ordination might not be the best for the next couple of days, but after a badly needed result last night, at least he’ll feel it was worth it.
