Just call him Mystic Paul.
You may have seen this week that Wicklow’s own Paul Dunne secured his European Tour card for next season.
It was a fantastic achievement for the 22-year-old, who was the only one of 34 Irish players to secure his spot on next year’s Tour.

While it may have come as a surprise to many, one person who predicted this all along was the man himself… as far back as his primary school days.
That is according to JOE reader, Eoin McHugh, who sent us this story and picture:
“It was his prediction, himself. I played on his GAA team since under-12s. I’d be good friends with him and the lads that were in his class. It’s one of the first things we put on his wall when he made it through Q school.”
Dunne made the bold call in his 6th class yearbook at St. Lawrence’s, and the brilliant picture was even shared on his own Facebook page by his close friend, Gary Dunne.
The Irish golfer rose to prominence earlier this year at The Open Championship, where he was the overnight leader going into the final round.
Let’s hope he can build on that success next year.
