It’s innocent enough as far as we can see, but Rory probably would have preferred if this hadn’t got out with everything that’s gone on in the past week or so.
It’s been an eventful week in the life of Rory McIlroy. Having revealed that he and Caroline Wozniacki had broken off their engagement last week, he went on to win the BMW PGA Championship at the weekend, narrowly pipping fellow Irishman Shane Lowry to the title at Wentworth.
This week, he’s in Ohio for the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village as part of his preparations for the US Open, and it was in Ohio where he was snapped in the photo below with a group of not unattractive female companions, all while shooting some pool as he chilled out before the start of the tournament on Thursday.

As we said, as far as we can see it’s completely innocent and no doubt McIlroy was just being sound by agreeing to pose for a photo with the ladies in question, but the timing’s not ideal, particularly when Wozniacki’s week went from bad to worse when she exited the French Open in the first round yesterday.
