Cavan star Cian Mackey has become quite attached to the trophy his club side Castlerahan won at the weekend; so attached, it seems, that he can’t even let it go in his sleep.

All-Star nominee Mackey capped off an excellent season from a personal point of view when captaining Castlerahan to the Cavan Division 1A league title with a victory over Cavan Gaels at the weekend. Having lifted the trophy after the game, Mackey obviously didn’t want to be separated from it afterwards, not even when he went to bed, no doubt after celebrating the triumph heartily with his Castlerahan teammates. mackeybed Mackey’s bed wasn’t the only place the trophy ended up in the last few days – if our experience of GAA celebrations is anything to go by, we don’t need to know every single detail – as he and the rest of the team were good enough to stop in and pay a visit to injured colleague Ronan Flanagan, who is recovering from an operation he underwent last week. flanagan Pic via HoganStand.com Success with your club in the GAA is hard to beat alright.
