It’s times like these that The Notorious will need those close to stick behind him.

The feeling must be extremely unfamiliar to Conor McGregor, but The Notorious is now reflecting on his first ever UFC defeat.

The featherweight champion was choked out by Nate Diaz in the second round at UFC 196, and the while the reaction to the result has been both positive and negative, there is one man backing McGregor all the way.

Coach John Kavanagh has already congratulated Nate Diaz on his victory, and now he has shared similarly kind words for his “kid brother” McGregor.

Take a look at this Instagram post.

Kavanagh said, “Couldn’t be prouder of my kid brother. He’s raised a sport to a global level and put a small island on a MMA map. People have no idea how hard he pushes himself.”

There’s no doubt, McGregor will be back. The question of who his opponent will be and when the fight will take place may remain for some time.
