Hands like glue...

NFL scouts take note…

American football punters don’t have the most glamorous of jobs and they rarely get to score any points unless it’s some form of trick play. But that doesn’t mean they don’t get to show off some pure skill every now and again.

Take Colorado Buffaloes’ Cork born punter Darragh O’Neill, for example, who made this incredible one-handed catch off a bad snap during the East-West Shrine All-Star collegiate game in Florida. You might already know him as the son of former Cork All-Ireland winning footballer Colm O’Neill.

Sadly, Darragh’s skilful catch didn’t help much, as his side lost 19-3. Still, this is one of the best one-handed catches we’ve seen since Odell Beckham’s.

In case you didn’t already know, Darragh was born on December 21, 1991, in South West Cork and according to the CUBuffs.com website, “His family moved to the United States when he was three, but all their relatives are still in Ireland and they visit there every summer.”

YouTuber Boscocup recorded a ‘Day in the life of Darragh O’Neill’ back in 2013 and it’s a great look at what punters have to do to stay in shape.

As it turns out, there’s a lot more to being a punter than just kicking a ball out of your hands…
