Dessie Dolan’s outfit on The Sunday Game last night was kind of a big deal.

As well as providing highlights and analysis of the weekend’s GAA action, The Sunday Game has turned into something of a fashion show in the last couple of years and this year in particular.

Every week, the various pundits appear to try and outdo each other in the style stakes, all the while giving out a free plug on social media to whatever local clothes store is happy to provide them with a free suit for a Sunday night.

Last night, Westmeath’s Dessie Dolan turned the heat up on the likes of Tomás Ó’Sé and Donal Óg Cusack when appearing on the show in a jacket best described as burgundy, an outfit that prompted plenty of good-natured ribbing on social media.

Dublin footballer Diarmuid Connolly, arguably the player of the season so far, said what everyone was thinking with a nice, gentle dig at Dolan on Twitter last night.
