Football fans care little for friendship.
Gareth Bale has had to deal with plenty of criticism at Real Madrid this season because things haven’t exactly gone according to plan for the Welshman or the European champions on the pitch.
Barcelona lifted La Liga while a tame Champions League semi-final defeat to Juventus means that Real’s fiercest rivals now have the chance to do the treble next week in Berlin.
Silverware will also be awarded at Wembley this afternoon as Bale’s two friends – Welsh teammate Aaron Ramsey and fellow Southampton academy alumni Theo Walcott – bid to retain the FA Cup for Arsenal against Aston Villa.
Former White Hart Lane darling Bale tweeted his support for his two mates but some Spurs fans didn’t take too kindly to this message.
