There were some tough calls to make but do you agree with the overall selection?

A number of regular Sunday Game panellists sat down following yesterday’s disappointing All-Ireland Final to pick who they thought was the best XV of the year and, as you’d suspect, it wasn’t easy.

In the end, the team was made up entirely of the four teams that made the All-Ireland semi-finals, with five players coming from Champions Kerry, five from runners-up Donegal, three from Mayo and two from Dublin.

After plenty of debate, you can see the team they come up with below, while James O’Donoghue fought off stiff competition from Diarmuid Connolly to be named as the panel’s Footballer of the Year.

Eamon McGee, Andy Mallon, Frank McGlynn, Aidan O’Shea, James McCarthy, Tony Kernan and Kieran Donaghy were among the players who the panel thought were hard done by not to make the cut, but was their XV a fair selection overall?

Feel free to let us know in the comment box below.
