Pic: Irish J1 students were cheering so loudly for Conor McGregor that the authorities fined them

Probably worth it

Probably worth it.

I’m certain that nearly every fan of The Notorious was screaming, cheering and chewing on their fingernails during the early hours of Sunday morning as the Dubliner claimed the Interim Featherweight title following a battling win against Chad Mendes.

The atmosphere in Las Vegas looked like it couldn’t be topped but I’d wager that McGregor’s fans all around the world managed to raise the volume levels in a fair few bars and houses.

Dara Herlihy is an Irish student that’s currently over in Chicago on a J1 with his friends and it seems that the US authorities are far less lenient when it comes to fans celebrating a sporting event.

Dara and his mates were cheering and celebrating so loudly that the police felt the need to show up on their doorstep and issue them with a fine for disturbing the peace.

Dara has since reached out to McGregor himself for assistance with paying the fine, he posted this Snapchat message on The Notorious’ Facebook wall, and it already has over 9,000 likes.

Here’s the original Snapchat message (hard to read this one)…
