Hats off to The Shelbourne, but we hope Brian doesn’t get stuck into the whiskey…
The entire country is caught up in the emotion of Brian O’Driscoll’s last game in green in Dublin on Saturday. We’ve already seen buildings being wrapped in his image and we expect a host of other tributes to flood in before kick-off against Italy on Saturday.
As Ireland’s greatest ever rugby player, and a model of sporting excellence, nobody deserves all the adulation more and tonight he received another reminder about just how much love there is for him out there.
Checking into his room at The Shelbourne Hotel for the final time with the irish team, he was greeted with some very nice gifts from the hotel.

As he says in the tweet he seems genuinely touched by the gesture.
We can only imagine what the emotions will be like when he walks off the pitch for the final time on Saturday.
