He’ll miss him badly.
The world of football is still coming to terms with this afternoon’s news that Gary Neville will take over as head coach as Valencia until the end of this season.
The fact that Neville’s brother Phil is already at the club and that it is owned by Peter Lim, who co-owns Salford City along with the Neville brothers, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes, means it maybe isn’t that big of a surprise, but it still came as a massive shock when the news was announced today.
Neville, of course, will have to forego Monday Night Football duties for the foreseeable future and his partner in crime Jamie Carragher was quick to react to the news with a classic response.
Gutted! This reminds me of when Pegguy Arphexad left for Coventry.

Well played Jamie, but who’s going to join you on MNF now?
Thierry Henry?
