Pic: Jaysus, Stephen Ferris’ ankle was some size after flying to Bangkok today

He’ll have trouble getting into his shoe after that.

Plenty of you will have experienced ankle inflammation after a particularly long flight and if you have, you’ll be able to empathise Stephen Ferris’ plight today. The former Ulster and Ireland flanker arrived in Bangkok this morning and posted evidence of the effects that the flight had on an ankle that has caused him plenty of problems in the past.

Ferris, of course, had to retire from professional rugby last summer because of a recurring ankle problem and you can spot the scars that he collected throughout an outstanding career that could have been so much better had injury not got in the way. Hopefully the pool will sort him out for the time being at least.
