We're all still on a massive Katie Taylor induced buzz here in JOE Towers after witnessing the Olympic gold medallist claim her fifth consecutive world title this morning. While we were content to watch the fight whilst wearing our slippers and robe there was a decent Irish contingent in Jeju, South Korea this morning. JOE reader Kenneth Quillinan, who is a university instructor in Daegu but originally hails from Tralee, flew down to see the Bray boxer's semi-final and final this morning and he even managed to catch up with her in the boxers waiting room after her fight. Kenneth also had an important question to ask her via the tricolour... Take a look because we have a feeling that many an Irish person has been thinking the same thing for a long time now. "Katie, Please Marry Me!! (Is that OK Peter?)" At least he asked Katie's dad, Peter, for permission... Katie then proved how much of a class act she is by letting Kenneth wear her gold medal. Unfortunately for Kenneth, Katie left him with a "maybe" which in JOE's experience means 'no'. Better luck next time, pal... Katie Taylor, a class act in and out of the ring.
