Soccer Republic pundit Alan Cawley is always a welcome face on our TV screens because we love hearing his insights and unflinching honesty when it comes to the domestic game. Before the Sligo man made his mark in the League of Ireland, most notably with Shelbourne, Bray Wanderers and St. Patrick's Athletic, Cawley enjoyed a four year period in England split between Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday. During his time at Elland Road it seems that he crossed paths with another famous midfielder, some guy by the name of Paul Scholes. A quick wikipedia on this guy named Scholes tells us that he was quite a big deal and might actually be the most gifted midfielder of the Premier League era. The two likeable lads met up again for a chat recently and the Sligo man couldn't help but ask this question. So what do you think? It's a hard one to answer but there's one thing we do know for sure. Cawley's hair style is much better now than it was before, nobody could look good with that McDonald's cut.
