“One of your ladies must have a very powerful shot!”
A football from Dungloe Ladies GAA team in Donegal somehow managed to make its way all the way to the Hebrides, off the coast of Scotland.
Arthur Heyes wrote to the club on Sunday to explain how he found one of the club’s balls on North Uist, directly north of the Irish county and all of 700km away.
“Hi, just thought you might be interested to hear that yesterday I found washed up on a beach in North Uist, Scotland, a fully inflated, perfect condition “Dungloe Ladies GAA football,” he wrote.
To give you some idea of the distance, check this out…
“Either one of your ladies has a particularly powerful shot (throw? punt? – I’m not really up on the rules) or the ball has survived a seaborne journey of 100s of miles. Respect to the quality of your Gaelic footballs.”
And you though Wilson in Castaway was made of tough stuff.
