Fair play to the German for his really sound gesture…
We all know about Mesut Ozil’s qualities on the pitch but the World Cup winning playmaker also left his mark on Brazil off the pitch also.
JOE told you about the wonderful gesture he did during the summer, using his World Cup bonus to pay for 23 Brazilian children to have life saving surgery, and we’re happy to say that this wonderful act of generosity has been rewarded.
At the time Ozil said , “We had the idea to help 23 children, because we had 23 players in the squad. And they underwent surgery, which was successful. I am very thankful. The doctors did a great job. I am very happy because it goes well for the children.”
The German was awarded with a Laureus the award ceremony to proclaim his commitment to help even more sick children in the future.
