Nigel Owens is one of the good guys…
Do you remember that famous Nigel Owens picture from the Aviva Stadium last weekend? The one where Gareth Duncan asked Nigel Owens to wave to the camera so he could get a selfie with him.
Owens, who was warming up ahead of his role as linesman for Ireland’s clash with Australia, responded with a good-natured two-fingered salute that was shared wildly online.
@garethduncan4 & his mates shouted give us a wave Nige. Sending him my match day jersey for this selfie. Cheers Gar pic.twitter.com/NbicUpbPCD

After the game Owens said to Wales Online: “You seen the picture doing social media, have you, with the boys shouting ‘Give us a wave, Nige’, and I give the Vs? All in good fun, though, and they all laughed. Good rugby banter and how it should be.”
“I’m trying to get hold of him and will post him my match day ref jersey from the game for being such a great sport, and the timing of the picture.
“If I can find out who he is, I can get jersey sorted and signed to him then.”
Well it seems that Owens came through on his word and forwarded on his jersey to Gareth.
Just received my signed jersey from @Nigelrefowens ! Can't thank him enough ! What a man ! Not a bad early Christmas present! #bestref pic.twitter.com/R6ai2fKd09
