Don’t cross Kimmage.
Shane Lowry has had a hell of week after his incredible hole-in-one at the Masters, followed by the unexpected news of his marriage to long-term partner Wendy Honner… which is where Paul Kimmage comes in.
The former cyclist and renowned journalist, famous for tackling the use of performance-enhancing drugs in sport, has referred to an interview he conducted with Lowry earlier in the year.
The journalist, like the rest of us, was surprised to hear the news of the Offaly native tying the knot in New York, considering the golfer had stated that the pair were holding off on the big call until later in 2016.
Kimmage wished him congratulations in the cheekiest of ways, with Lowry himself retweeting both of the messages…
